We’ve done Northern and Southern, and Irish, so next up in our Top 10 series of funny men and comedians is the Scottish. We love comedy in the Jacamo office and once again this was another difficult list, although we’ll admit some of those listed below were straight onto the list without a second thought!
So here is our list of our top 10 Scottish funny men and comedians.
Billy Connolly
Quite possibly the king of Scottish comedy, Billy Connolly had to be the first comedian who came into our heads. It’s hard to put him into one genre given that he’s known his comedy, music performances and acting roles, but it’s probably his stand up career that sets him apart from everyone else - he was also voted as the greatest stand-up comic on Channel 4′s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups in 2007 and 2010. His on-stage attire is also one to be noted, since the 1980s, Connolly has worn a custom-made black T-shirt with a shirt tail as part of his act.
Whether they’re an antidote to all the metrosexual fragrances floating around today, or their popularity is simply due to the love of all things retro that’s swept over us for the last few years, “heritage” aftershaves have once again earned a place for themselves on men’s bathroom cabinets.
